John 1:1-5

“In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].”

The Word is alive! It is living! It is powerful! This scripture tells us the Word was in the beginning. All things were made and came into existence through the spoken Word. Each Word in the Bible is a container of God’s power just waiting to be released.

In Genesis 1, we see God creating with His spoken Word. The Spirit of God was hovering, waiting for instructions. Then, God spoke, full of faith, “Let there be light” and light manifested. God released His faith for creation and it connected with the power of the Holy Spirit and creation manifested. His words were containers that carried His faith out into the darkness and created light. Everything you see was created with words. Everything starts with words.

It happens the same today. The Holy Spirit lives on the inside of each believer. The Word of God dwells in our hearts as we read and study the Bible daily. When we declare the Word of God in believing faith, the power is released connecting with Holy Spirit, and that for which we have spoken is established and manifests. In other words, when we declare the Word of God, the power of the Holy Spirit connects with the power of the Word of God spoken in faith and manifestation of the declared Word takes place.

Hebrews 1:3 tells us that God “…upholds and maintains and guides and propels the universe by His mighty word of power...”. That’s where His power is – it’s in His Word!

Hebrews 4:12

“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.”

Since God’s Word is that quick and that powerful, then when we give voice to (speak) the Word, we are releasing the source of God’s power. We are releasing God Himself on the earth.

God’s Word can discern the intents and purposes of the heart. You can read the same scripture over and over and get a new revelation because you have different thoughts and different intents each time you read it. Holy Spirit takes that same Word and ministers to you in a different way according to your need.

You can never exhaust the Word of God.

Jesus is called the Word of God who became flesh and dwelt among us. He is still the Word of God. He is the personification of the Word. So, the Word of God is equal to God.

Romans 10:4-8

“4) For Christ is the end of the Law [the limit at which it ceases to be, for the Law leads up to Him Who is the fulfillment of its types, and in Him the purpose which it was designed to accomplish is fulfilled. That is, the purpose of the Law is fulfilled in Him] as the means of righteousness (right relationship to God) for everyone who trusts in and adheres to and relies on Him. 5) For Moses writes that the man who [can] practice the righteousness (perfect conformity to God’s will) which is based on the Law [with all its intricate demands] shall live by it. 6) But the righteousness based on faith [imputed by God and bringing right relationship with Him] says, Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into Heaven? That is, to bring Christ down; 7) Or who will descend into the abyss? That is, to bring Christ up from the dead [as if we could be saved by our own efforts] 8) But what does it say/ The Word (God’s message in christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach.”

The Word is as close to you as getting it in your mouth and speaking it into your heart. The Word is first in your mouth then it gets into your heart. Faith works in your heart.

For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Salvation is more than being saved. It’s an all-inclusive word that includes deliverance from evil; preservation, healing, and soundness; total prosperity. You can believe with your heart and be born again, but if you want to be delivered from temporal evils, and healed while you’re on the earth, then you need to speak the Word of God.

Romans 10:9-10

“Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10) For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.”

You are to confess Jesus is our Lord to be saved in addition to confessing what the Word says about healing to be healed. You confess the word until it gets on the inside of you and creates an image there. You must see yourself healed, delivered, and set free.

There are two steps to speaking the Word. The first step is to speak God’s Word out loud and keep speaking it until the Word builds up faith on the inside of you. Continue this step until you reach the point where you believe what you are saying will come to pass. The second step is to speak the Word of God out loud commanding and taking dominion until things change.

So, there are two different parts to speaking God’s Word.

  1. There is speaking the Word into your heart and building up your faith to the level of believing.
  2. Then there is speaking forth the Word of Faith that causes things to change.

God’s Word produces the faith to receive the things God has given you in His Word. So, you confess the Word. In other words, you say what the Word says. Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). It gets into your spirit quicker when you hear yourself say it. Then, it produces faith for what God has given us.

It’s like your bank account. The funds in the account belong to you. Yet, in order to receive the funds, you must make a demand on the account by writing a check. The funds will stay in the bank until you make a demand on your account.

The Kingdom of God works the same way. God has already provided everything we need in life. It already belongs to us. In order to receive the things we need, we must make a demand on it with our words of faith and believe that we have received it already. Jesus said that we can have what we say if we believe and doubt not in our heart.

Mark 11:23-24

“23) Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. 24) For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].”

The Word gets in your heart when you speak it out of your mouth. It creates a change in the human spirit like nothing else does. Words are containers of power that create action and cause great impact in our lives. They build up or they tear down. Words have the power to bring life or death physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Faith operates through our words whether positive or negative.

Proverbs 18:21

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in its hall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].”

I’ve heard people say, “I’ll never get out of debt.” “Things will never get better.” Unless they change the words they speak, they will have what they say. People must be careful what words they release.

It’s not enough to stop saying negative things, you must start speaking positive things. Start prophesying every dream God has put in your heart.

So, you must reprogram the way you talk. You can’t allow yourself to say negative things. To do that, you must renew your mind with the washing of the Word daily. You’ve been talking like that for years, so don’t expect to change over night. It will take persistence, determination, and help from Holy Spirit. Each day will be better than the day before until one day you’ll realize you aren’t speaking negatively any more.

The more you say it, the more you’ll believe it.

The more you believe it, the more you’ll say it.

But, if you have the devil’s words in you, you will not prosper and things will not go well with you. That negativity will destroy your ability to progress in any area of your life.

Instead, you’ve got to call for what you don’t have. You don’t have to “tell it like it is”. The bible says you say it the “way you want it”! Say to the mountain be thou removed and cast into the sea. Talk to the mountain. Don’t talk about how the mountain has hindered you. It will take you a while to reprogram your way of talking, but don’t give up.

Jesus said, “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you can ask what you will, pray what you will, say what you will, and it shall be done.” (John 15:7)

All things whatever you ask in prayer believing, you shall receive. (Matthew 21:22)

So, we’re only limited to what we can believe based on the Word of God. If you say and believe wrong so long, you become attached to the wrong (negative) thing you’ve been saying. You must first let go, repent (change you mindset), and denounce that wrong thinking and saying. Then begin to speak, on purpose, what God’s Word says.

Proverbs 13:3 says, “He who guards his mouth, keeps his life…”

What you say can make your life better or it can make your life worse. If you can’t believe – you don’t have the faith to believe – then don’t say anything. Keep quiet until you get enough of the Word of God in you to have faith to believe.

Proverbs 12:14 says, “From the fruit of his words a man shall be satisfied with good…”

You are the prophet of your life. Your words affect the things in you life. It is vital that you align your words with what God says in His Word.

In summary, God’s Word produces the faith for the things God has already given you. You have to make a demand on it by faith in order to receive. Faith makes a demand on it by the authority of God’s Word. You’re only limited by what you can believe based on the authority of the Word of God. So take the Word of God and confess the Word until faith comes by renewing your mind daily. Then after faith is abundantly in your heart, you speak words with authority that will absolutely change circumstances and situations. God’s Word is a container of power just waiting for you to speak it and release the power in this natural realm. When you do, your life will change. Situations and circumstances around you will change. You will release Heaven on Earth, and the supernatural will become a daily part of your life.
